What It Really Means to Book with a Travel Advisor, Like Me

Let’s have a little heart-to-heart.

I know it’s easy these days to hop online, click a few buttons, and book your vacation yourself. And I totally understand the appeal—there are endless websites, deals that seem too good to pass up, and a sense of control when you're doing it yourself.

But I want to explain what it means when you choose to book your trip with me, a professional travel advisor.

This isn’t a hobby or a side hustle for me.
This is my job. My livelihood.
It’s how I support my family and keep my small business going.

I work on 100% commission, just like a real estate agent. That means I don’t earn a paycheck unless you book your travel through me—and travel. When someone reaches out and asks for a quote, I spend time researching, comparing options, finding the best fit, and answering questions… all in hopes of earning their trust and business.

But if they take that quote and book it themselves online—maybe even for the same price—I worked for free.

Here’s something most people don’t know:

In the travel industry, commission is already built into the price of your trip.
Whether it’s Disney, Universal, cruise lines, or all-inclusive resorts—they’ve all factored in that commission.

If you book directly through a supplier, they don’t give you a discount because you didn’t use an advisor. They just keep the commission for themselves.

If you book through me, that same price includes my time, expertise, support, and personal attention… at no extra cost to you.

So what does booking with me actually look like?

It means:

• You get someone who knows how to navigate the travel world—whether it’s planning a first-time Disney trip, a European river cruise, or an epic Alaska adventure.

• You get someone who’s here when things don’t go as planned.
  (Like recently, when I was on the phone at 2 a.m. helping clients whose flight to Paris was canceled. I don’t stop working when your trip starts—I’m on call for you.)

• You get someone who genuinely cares that your vacation is amazing, smooth, and unforgettable.

Travel isn’t just my business—it’s my passion.

I love exploring the world. I love discovering new places, connecting with different cultures, and having those “wow” moments that stay with you long after you return home. But more than that, I love helping you experience that too.
Nothing makes me happier than hearing a client say, “That was the best trip we’ve ever taken.”
That’s why I do this.
