Can you believe we are in the beginning of August and already talking about Halloween? Yes, we are and I’m ok with that. It means Fall and cooler temperatures are coming AND it means all things Halloween at the Walt Disney World Resort including my favorite subject, Disney FOOD!

The Walt Disney World Resort just released the complete foodie guide and I am SUPER excited. The food all looks so good and I am excited that I will get to check some of it out later this month.

The Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets are also available and some dates are already selling out. The party dates from from August 9 - October 31, 2024.

Let’s dive in to this Halloween foodie menu. One of the first thing that has caught my eye is the new Chicken Adobo Nachos: Blue corn tortilla chips with grilled chicken adobo, toasted pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, roasted corn pico, and a zesty pumpkin-cheese sauce finished with a cilantro-lime crema and yellow corn tortilla strips.

Disney can go heavy on the desserts so I am excited about this savory treat. The Chicken Adobo Nachos can be found from August 9-October 31st at the following locations: Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, All-Star Sports Resort and Art of Animation Resort. I just happen to be staying a few nights at All-Star Music, so stay tuned as I will be checking these out and sharing my experience on social media. At the same locations, the Monster Cupcake can be found. I sometimes find the cupcakes to be dry and have never been a big fan, but these look fun! Please share your favorite cupcakes at Disney!

Next up, I am excited about The Whoopie Monster and Captain Hook Cookie. The Whoopie Monster is an apple and caramel whoopie pie with marshmallow buttercream. It can be found at Disney’s Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century and Port Orleans Resorts (both Riverside and French Quarter).

The Captain Hook Cookie looks unique and from the picture, I’m not sure its a “cookie”. I will have to find out and report back. The Captain Hook Cookie is a vanilla sablé with strawberry jam, peanut butter ganache, buttercream, and chocolate décor. Looks like this cookie will be exclusive to Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Who knows what a “vanilla sablé” is? I had to go over to the Google machine and look it up. The word sablé is French and means “sandy”. My daugher, Isabella is the baker in our family and I will see if she is familiar with this kind of cookie. I am intrigued and will definitely be searching this cookie out. Stay tuned!

Next up, we have the Halloween Mummy Cupcake. I know, I know, I just said I’m not big on cupcakes, but listen to this description: “The Halloween Mummy Cupcake is a spiced vanilla cupcake with apple compote and milk chocolate mousse” and it’s new this year. They had me at spiced. I love a good spice cake and it’s SOOO cute! This spooky beauty can be found at the Boardwalk Deli and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Pictured with the cupcake below is the Mickey Halloween Cinnamon Roll, it looks cute, but really just a Mickey cinnamon roll with a little orange drizzle.

Next to catch my eye is the Haunted Forest Apple Mousse. This one is so adorable, I would almost hesitate to eat it (and not because its potentially poisonous ;). The description Disney provides is: “green cake with cookies and cream mousse and sour apple mousse”. Cookies and cream and sour apple mousse? I’m really curious about the mix of those flavors. I definitely have to investigate this one! It looks like this one will possibly be exclusive to Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Good thing I will be spending time at Wilderness Lodge! I don’t want to miss this treat.

For the finale, in my top choices I want to try, is a good one! Found only at the Scat Cat Club Cafe at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter, the Ghoulish Beignets! The Ghoulish Beignets are Mickey-shaped beignets dusted with cookies and cream powdered sugar and a ghoulish marshmallow crème drizzle. Does that not sound completely devilish? Or ghoulish, I should say. I haven’t had the regular beignets at Scat Cat’s recently so may have to get both and see which are the best. Port Orleans French Quarter, until the recent opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, has been the only place on Disney property to get beignets. With the opening of the new attraction, Tiana’s Famous beignets have been on the menu at Golden Oak Outpost in Frontierland. They were only available for a limited time, so I hope they’re still available in late August when I’m there.

Well, that does it. My favorite picks off the Halloween treat menus. All of these items listed here are available in Disney Resorts but not in the parks. When I visit in a few weeks, I will also share my Halloween treat finds inside the parks, so be on the lookout on my social media for those! In case you want to see the entire list of Halloween treats for yourself, here is the link to the complete list.
